Owl-in-a-box
Eastern Screech Owls often over-winter in the wood duck boxes throughout the Great Cypress Swamp. In the afternoons, they often hang out of the west-facing boxes to soak up some sun and get warm. Most of the Screech Owls we see are red phase, like this one, although we have some gray phase as well.
